Yes sir, I just read this article on Yahoo Sports and I am thrilled. I’ve been tired of the flopping for many years now, I think Reggie Miller might have started it all. Lol, but anyway, I can’t wait for the season to start and start hearing about the five w’s of people that are flopping. Plenty of reports are going to be coming out this season of players getting fined after games and such. David Stern finally did something really good to help the NBA.
In the mean time the league is actually doing a good job of keeping players from bothering officials and making calls on people overly overreacting. I’m happy to hear all of this and let’s play some good hard basketball like the generations before the Kobe and Shaq era ended!!!
So the way the NBA will check flopping is after games, the tapes will be reviewed. Then fines will be sent out to persons committing the penalty, reports on ESPN show fines starting at 15,000 and going up 5,000 each time the person commits an offense. Until the said individual commits a sixth flopping penalty in which case that person could be suspended for games. I love the new legislation put on the league.
Although the union for the NBA Players are now saying that the rules are a stretch of David Sterns power. I think that’s hog wash, and it’s just something else that the union wants to complain about. All this means is this situation will be in the NBA news every time a player gets a fine or what not. Anyway let’s start the season already I’m excited!!
